Trumpington Street is our only location offering a full, traditional afternoon tea, though you can also enjoy a cream tea at both Bridge Street and King’s Parade.

Yes, this is possible at all of our branches. Please place your order directly with each branch’s online ordering page – Trumpington Street, Bridge Street or King’s Parade. You can also find out more on our Picnics & Takeaway page.

Yes, all of our locations are dog friendly.

Our Trumpington Street branch offers vegan (which is also halal), vegetarian, and avoiding gluten versions of our afternoon tea. (This does not include ingredients containing gluten, but it prepared in an environment where gluten is in constant use).

You don’t need to prebook - we can make adjustments in branch.

In the first instance please check your Junk email folder. If you still can’t find the order confirmation you may need to check any alternative email addresses that you have.

If you’ve placed orders with us before, our system may have defaulted to the original email address that was used to place your first order. 

If you have received your order confirmation, then we have received your payment and your order.

Occasionally, when payments are made via PayPal, billing information is registered with PayPal directly, and the billing information in our system isn’t used.

Yes, in most instances you can, however 2 days’ notice (prior to the original delivery date) is required for orders to be cancelled. Please contact us to arrange this.

DELIVERY

We deliver nationwide throughout the UK with Royal Mail, and you can also choose to collect your order in person at any of our Cambridge branches. Please note we do not currently ship internationally.

Our Next Day Delivery collection offers a selection of products that can arrive the next day using Royal Mail Special Delivery, if ordered before midday.

For all other items, please allow 2-3 days processing time – this will be shown on the delivery calendar when you check out.

If you are a Cambridge local, you can also order from our regular café menu to pick up in store, or via Uber Eats for delivery straight away.

Please check the ‘Shipping update’ email we sent you, which will contain your Royal Mail tracking number.

  • Tracked 24 is a 1–2-day service, which will arrive on the selected delivery date, or the next working day.
  • Special Delivery is a signed-for service which usually arrives by 1pm on the selected delivery date.

You can select any delivery date from the calendar before you check out – this will be the intended date of arrival of your order.

For the most accurate delivery time, please select Special Delivery for a guaranteed arrival before 1pm on your chosen date. Otherwise, Tracked 24 will usually arrive on your chosen day or the day after.

GIFTS

We do not include any billing information or prices in our parcels. We only include any Gift Note messages which are linked to your order.

If you miss adding your Gift Note at checkout, in most instances a Gift Note message can still be added or changed.

For very last minute gifts, our online gift vouchers can be sent via email straight away, including a gift message, and can be redeemed on any item in our online shop.

INGREDIENTS & ALLERGENS

This means our bakers have used gluten free flour in the recipe. Due to the risk of cross-contamination during production and preparation, we cannot guarantee that any product is entirely free of any particular allergen.

Our vegan collection includes all items suitable for vegans, and you can also use the filter on any other collection to only show vegan options.

Everything in our vegan collection is also halal, and you can also use the filter in all other collections to only show halal options.

CHELSEA BUNS

Our Chelsea buns can be frozen in an airtight container upon arrival. Simply defrost fully prior to eating.

We suggest following the Serving & Storage suggestions that arrive with the buns, which advise how best to heat Chelsea Buns individually in the microwave once defrosted. Chelsea Bun syrup should be stored at room temperature, in an airtight container.

As well as our original, bestselling Chelsea buns, we also offer bake at home buns for fresh-from-the-oven deliciousness.

For special occasions, we have Chelsea bun cakes, Chelsea bun number cakes and trays of buns, perfect for parties.

There’s also various seasonal flavours to enjoy, and for Cambridge locals you can visit our cafés for our famous Chelsea bun ice cream.

In short, yes! Our Chelsea buns are best consumed on day of arrival and will last up-to 7 days but they can be microwaved to 'revive' them but we only recommend doing so one bun at a time and for 20 seconds on a medium heat.

CELEBRATION CAKES

Next day collections are not possible for celebration cakes as they are made to order.

Fitzbillies does have a cake shop which is next door to the Trumpington Street café, where a selection of celebration cakes can be purchased to take away on the day.

Yes, that is possible, please contact our Bakery office on 01223 211150 or email orders@fitzbillies.com.

Number cake orders must be placed a minimum of 7 days prior to the required collection date. Our website automatically cuts off ordering when there is no longer enough time available.

The “serving and storage” tab on every cake product suggests a recommended amount of servings for that cake. You can also add on either matching or mix-and-match cupcakes to make sure there’s enough cake for all of your guests, or combine a matching single or double-tier cake with one of our spectacular number cakes for a big birthday or anniversary.

Feel free to contact us for advice on the best cake for your occasion if you aren’t sure.

CORPORATE ENQUIRIES

While we’re unable to offer delivery, we do have several options that can be collected from our branches or bakery, depending on your need. Our Trumpington Street branch can provide picnics and lunch items for collection, and our bakery can provide trays of buns, scones, and cakes for collection. Our King’s Parade and Trumpington Street branches are both available for group bookings.

At King’s Parade, we have space for 24 people in our private Centenary Room. At Trumpington Street, we can seat up to 50 in the rear section of the restaurant tearoom. Find out more on our Group Bookings page

We’re able to provide corporate gifting with a uniquely Cambridge flavour for all kinds of occasions, including Christmas. We can send any of our hampers directly to employees, clients, colleagues, and more, and we can put together a bespoke selection that meets your needs and budget.

CHARITY & WORK EXPERIENCE

We regularly support local charities, typically two each year, chosen by our team. While we would love to support every local and national cause, we have concentrated our efforts for maximum impact in the local community.

Due to health and safety restrictions we are unable to participate in work experience schemes in our bakery, or our cafés.
